Polycom VVX and Poly Edge Phones

This page will guide you through connecting supported Polycom phones — Hardware Compatibility List

  1. Create an extension (if you haven't already)
  2. Assign the mac address of the phone to the extension (Provision tab)
  3. Power on the phone
  4. When prompted for an old password, enter 456
  5. For the new password, enter 1234 (will be replaced with your account pin automatically)
  6. Navigate to SettingsAdvanced Settings
  7. When prompted, enter 1234 for the password
  8. Navigate to Administration SettingsNetwork ConfigurationProvisioning Server
  9. Set the following:
  10. Server Typehttps
    Server Addressp.rocketvox.com
    Server Userp
    Server Password<unique global password>
    Your unique global password can be found in the portal under SystemSettings
  11. Press the Back or Exit softkey
  12. Select Save and Reboot
  13. Done! Your phone may perform an update and then it will be ready to go
The Right and Left display control keys can be used to toggle various settings and * and # or 1 can be used for special characters such as a period or dot. Every device has a unique hardware (media access control or "mac") address, a 12 character string usually located on the bottom, for example: 0A:BC:DE:F1:23:45 If provisioning is unsuccessful you may have out of date firmware or a discontinued model, in these cases you must use http for the ServerType.

Factory Reset

To return a Polycom VVX or Poly Edge phone to factory settings, press and hold the 1,3,5 dialpad keys simultaneously.

After a few seconds you'll be prompted for the password which will be your account pin.

If the password is unknown, use the hardware (mac) address in lower case and no punctuation.
